Recital 2020 - 2021

“Once Upon A Time”

Date: December 5, 2020

Location: Planet Gymnastics (upstairs)

Time: 10:00AM

For our winter recital this year, we will only be doing a small informance for immediate family members only. Each dancer will wear her Black Class Leotard, Class Tights, Black Tutu, and Christmas headband with hair in a low bun (right side part), and makeup. (Dancers must bring both dance shoes with them in their dance bag along with their Studio T-Shirt). The informance fee for each dancer is $20. Admissions will be $10 per person. All WRISTBANDS will be sold from November 12 - December 5, 2018. Money must be turned in by Cash or Check ONLY! Please make checks payable to Diamond Washington. 5 guests per dancer ONLY.

All dancers should arrive to Planet Gymnastics by 9:30AM FULLY DRESSED. Only one  parent is permitted to check their dancer in. Doors open at 9:55AM for all other guests. The show will begin at  10:00AM. Please make sure that all dancers have their IDA Studio Shirt present.  

 

**ALL GUESTS MUST STOP BY THE CHECK IN TABLE UPON ARRIVAL. IF A PERSON’S NAME IS NOT ON  THE LOG SHEET YOU PROVIDED WITH TICKET MONEY, THEY WILL NOT BE GRANTED ADMITTANCE INTO THE INFORMANCE. DANCERS WILL NEED TO BE CHECKED IN UPON ARRIVAL. NO GUESTS ALLOWED INSIDE UNTIL 9:55AM!!

“Who You Are"

Date: TBA

Location: Surge Church - 2900 Dawes Rd

Time: Doors open at 2:45P. Show starts at 3:00P.

All dancers are required to sell at least 5 tickets each. NO EXCEPTIONS. Advanced Tickets will be sold from April 1 – May 1, 2020. The dancer that sells the most advanced recital tickets will receive HALF OFF MONTHLY TUITION for August 2020. All tickets will be $15 at the door after May 1, 2020.

Advanced Adult Wristbands (ages 12 and UP) : $10

Advanced Child Wristbands (ages 5-11) : $5

Advanced Toddler Wristbands(ages 4 and Under): FREE

**All money must be turned in by cash or check ONLY! Please make checks payable to Diamond Washington.**

Programs

Colored Programs are PRESALE ONLY! Each dancer receives one colored program at a discounted price of $8. All other colored programs are $10 each. Black and White programs are $5 each. Each program will feature photos from our photoshoot. Programs are sold from April 1 – May 1, 2020 with advanced tickets. Please log them accordingly. Only Black and White programs will be sold at the door.

 

Program Ads

All ads will be sold until  April 15, 2019. Please submit all ads digitally to InspiredDanceAcademy1@gmail.com. All emails must include a picture of your dancer, font, font size, font color, and a message you want to send to your dancer.

Quarter Page: $25

Half Page: $50

Full Page: $75

 

Things To Remember

All dancers must come to rehearsal in ALL BLACK. Do not bring costumes just bring the correct shoes that you will be performing in.

1. No gum, candy, drinks, or food in auditorium, back stage, or dressing rooms.

2. Please arrive on time. Each dancer must be signed in by a parent and/or guardian. NO PARENTS are allowed in rehearsals.

3. COSTUMES MUST EACH BE HUNG ON SEPARATE HANGERS FOR RECITAL AND LABELED WITH YOUR DANCER'S NAME!

 

Dressing for Performances

    •    NUDE or NO undergarments are to be worn under tights/costumes.

    •    All tap shoes should be tied in double knots.

    •    All strings in ballet shoes should be knotted, cut to about an inch in length, and tucked into the shoes so they cannot be seen.

    •    Dancer’s name should be added to ALL dance items.

    •    Absolutely no nail polish should be worn for the rehearsal or performance. Also, please leave all jewelry at home during rehearsals. Only performance jewelry should be worn during performances. Inspired Dance Academy will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.

    •    All students should bring their own personal grooming items and make-up.

    •    Costumes should be brought to the auditorium on hangers. Costumes should be put away in your designated area backstage for show time.

    •    Please bring extra safety pins, bobby pins, hair ties, and tights.

    •    All parents should enter through the front doors of the auditorium only. NO ONE IS TO USE THE BACK DOOR OF THE VENUE. After taking students to the dressing area, parents should proceed to the front of the auditorium and wait for the doors to open. Only parents who are working should be backstage or in the dressing areas once students are dressed and in the care of their assigned helpers.

    •    Anyone entering the auditorium for the performance will need a ticket - regardless of age.

 

Make up:

A dancer's make-up should be more intense than normal make-up to enhance the costume and keep the dancer from looking washed out and/or pale on stage.

Stage make-up consists of:

    •    Foundation

    •    Eyeliner

    •    Mascara

    •    Blush

    •    Lipstick

    •    False Eyelashes (required to be worn by older dancers only)

 

Hair

Please consult your dance instructor for appropriate hairstyles.

 

Please direct all questions to the assigned staff members in the auditorium and/or dressing areas. If you need to talk to Ms. Diamond, please leave a message with a staff member or text or email after rehearsal or before the show. However, please refer back to newsletters or your recital packet before calling with questions. Most answers to your question can be found in our newsletter/handbook information.

Checklist:

    •    ALL costumes and accessories for recital - COSTUMES MUST EACH BE HUNG ON A SEPARATE HANGER!

    •    Appropriate color tights for each costume and extras are suggested in case of accidental damage

    •    Hair and make-up should be done prior to arriving at the venue the day of the recital. Extra hair accessories (bobby pins and hairspray) and make-up (lipstick and blush) are suggested to keep the hair and make-up looking fresh during the recital

    •    Dancer's name should be on or inside ALL belongings
