Mission Statement:

Inspired Dance Academy’s mission is to activate the inner confidence and inspiration that every person possesses. Dance is a great form of expression. We work to inspire and challenge students to improve their movement skills in various forms of dance compiling what we know in things such as dance training, coaching, and performance. We create an environment that is rich in diverse approaches and settings.

 

Philosophy:

Dancers are some of the most creative beings. Dance allows a person to be free within oneself. With proper training and instruction, dance can teach many life lessons such as discipline, perserverance, dedication, and innovation. Being inspired is the key to unlocking the creative trait inside each dancer. The first step is believing in yourself.

Miss Diamond Ricquae’ Washington

Owner and Head Dance Instructor

Ms. Diamond Ricquae’ Washington is the owner and head dance instructor of Inspired Dance Academy. She has been dancing and singing since the age of two. She cheered at Causey Middle School and Baker High school all years attended. She also danced as a member of Baker High School’s dance company Encore for 3 years. She has trained with world renowned ballerina Nancy Kline and modern genius Wayne Smith. Diamond attended the University of Memphis to pursue her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education. She has 11 years of coaching and teaching experience. Her favorite genre of dance to teach is Ballet, but her favorite genres of dance to perform is Hip Hop and Contemporary. She is a God fearing woman who loves to inspire young girls and boys through the arts. She is also the Worship Leader at Bethesda Christian Center in Mobile where Roger Stanton is the pastor. She plans to change the lives of many with her life experiences with the help of God in this new journey as studio owner of the AMAZING Inspired Dance Academy.

Mrs. Tonya Clausell

Fitness Instructor

Fitness Instructor Mrs. Tonya Clausell is a wife & mother of three children (Diamond, Jade and Evan). She has been a Personal Trainer since April 2007. She’s always loved fitness in every aspect, earning the name “Stallion” because her physic and endurance during workouts. She recently restarted her fitness journey in August 2018 with Inspired Dance Academy as Fitness Instructor for “Inspired To Be Fit” adult fitness class. With her background in ministry as a Prophetess she fits right in with IDA’s slogan “The Inspiration Is In You” striving to inspire each adult to maximize all the positive energy within themselves.

Miss Kirstan Sullivan

Assistant Dance Instructor

My name is Kirstan Sullivan and I am 2nd year student at the University of South Alabama. I am a Biology Pre-Medicine with a passion to pursue a career in the Health Profession. I have always loved the idea of dancing it
was my way of expressing my feelings without talking. I have always been a part of the dance ministry at my church , Temple of Jerusalem Cathedral which is where my journey began. From there I transformed into taking
classes at the studio, I started dancing when I was I the 6th grade at Danze 101 Studio up until I was in the 10th grade. I attended Mattie Thomas Blount High School and there I was a dance girl for 3 years, and eventually
became the captain of the team my senior year.
